MEADVILLE – The four taxing bodies involved in the Conneaut Lake Park legal battle are set to approve a cost sharing agreement for their attorney’s fees. Summit Township has already signed off on the agreement that was presented at the Crawford County Commissioner work session meeting on Tuesday.
The agreement states that Crawford County, Summit Township, Sadsbury Township, and the Conneaut School District will divide up their attorney costs on a pro rated basis, according to which taxing authority has the biggest stake in Conneaut Lake Park’s overdue tax bill.
The Pittsburgh based Weiss, Burkhardt, and Kramer law firm is handling all proceedings related to a Sheriff’s Sale of Conneaut Lake Park, and charges a rate of 150 dollars per hour.
Another law firm, Quinn, Buseck, Leemhuis, Toohey & Kroto, out of Erie, is representing the taxing authorities in bankruptcy proceedings at a rate of 250 dollars per hour.
