A Conneaut Lake man is jailed on charges he robbed a woman at gunpoint outside a local restaurant. It happened yesterday around 1:15 in the afternoon in the parking lot of the Silver Shores Restaurant on the Conneaut Lake Road. Police say the man fled on foot while being chased by restaurant employees.
The man was found by police in a North Second Street apartment some fifteen minutes after the robbery. He was identified as 31-year-old Billy Joe Rash.
Police managed to recover both the stolen money and the gun used in the robbery. Rash was arraigned before District Judge Rita Marwood and placed in the Crawford County Jail on 100-thousand dollars bond on charges of robbery, simple assault, reckless endangerment and theft by unlawful taking.
Information as to whether a hearing date has yet been set for these charges was not immediately available.
