FRANKLIN – Franklin Police are investigating what appears to be a burglary at a fire-damaged home last week.  Last Monday, the house at 376 Grant Street caught fire.  Police tell us that following Wednesday, it appears that somebody got inside the building, which was only partially secured, and stole a number of items from inside.

The current estimated loss is about a thousand dollars.  The stolen goods include a computer, 25 collector knives commemorating the Viet Nam War, two rifles, a shotgun, 15-hundred dollars cash, 20 sets of coins, four army plaques, five army related decorated figures, a never work Viet Nam commemorative watch from 1968, ammunition, a couple of 2 dollar bills, four Tootsie Roll containers filled with Kennedy half-dollars and Susan B. Anthony coins, and six Army medals.
