Two Crawford County residents sentenced for Welfare Fraud

MEADVILLE – Two Crawford County residents pleaded guilty to welfare fraud and have received their sentences, according to the Pennsylvania Office of Inspector General.

In Titusville, 48-year-old Julia M. Tarr was ordered to pay full restitution and fines for illegally claiming more than 94-hundred dollars in food stamp benefits.  She will also be banned from receiving the benefits for one year.

And 41-year-old Meadville resident Lowell Chambers fraudulently received more than 28-hundred dollars in LIHEAP heating assistance funds and was sentenced to one month incarceration, three months house arrest, two years probation and was ordered to pay full restitution, costs and fines.
