HARRISBURG — Tolls will soon rise on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, but the increase won’t be as much for some as it is for others. The new rates go into effect at 12:01 AM Sunday January 6th… with a ten-percent toll increase for cash-paying customers, but only a two-percent increase for EZPass users. The reason- it simply costs the Turnpike Commission less to operate an all-electronic collection system. Customers using EZPass will save about 25 percent on tolls versus their cash-paying counterparts.
