OIL CREEK TWP. — A Titusville man remains in jail after a midnight arrest Saturday at Titusville WalMart. Wayne Eugene Burnside, 25, is charged with Resisting Arrest, Public Drunkenness, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment. State Police from the Corry Station were summoned for a “highly intoxicated male who was being irate.” Police say Burnside struck an 18-year-old male victim in the face. The victim, identified as Wrixton Page Wolfe, of Centerville, allegedly refused to give Burnside a ride. Police say Burnside refused to leave the store after being told to do so by the shift manager.
When police arrived, they say Burnside was arguing with employees in the parking lot. Police say Burnside became irate and verbally abusive with troopers and refused to obey their orders. Police twice discharged their Tazer at Burnside before they were able to make the arrest.
Burnside was arraigned in front of Judge Lincoln Zilhaver and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 22nd. He was remanded to the Crawford County Jail and was unable to post bond of $7,500.
