HARRISBURG — The polls will be open from 7am until 8pm today.  Municipal primaries like this one are not high-profile affairs in Pennsylvania. Political observers anticipate only a 20% turnout statewide, and big city mayoral primaries will be driving much of that. In Pittsburgh, there’s a four way Democratic primary for the nomination.

One of the biggest races to watch locally will be the District Attorney contest in Venango County.  James Carbone is the lone Democrat on the ticket.  Meanwhile Brenda Servidio, Mike Hadley, and Shawn White are all vying for their party’s nomination on the Republican side.

Today’s only statewide race is a low-profile affair among two Democrats trying to be their party’s nominee for an open seat on the state Superior Court.
