UNION TWP. – Police are investigating some bizarre vandalism at a Crawford County cemetery.  Police have just now released details of the case even though the vandalism was discovered early last month.  It happened at St. John’s Church and Cemetery in Union Township.  Police say someone spray-painted messages on the church and at the grave site of Raymond P. Shafer that appear to be an attempt to put a curse on the former governor.   One of the messages was written in French.  Translated, it means, “cursed for all eternity Shafer.”  An attempt was also made to unearth Shafer’s grave.

The Shafer family is offering a 25-hundred dollar reward through the Pennsylvania Crimestoppers.  You can contact them at 1-800-4PA-TIPS, or call State Police Trooper Dale Wimer at 814-332-6911.
