VERNON TWP. -- Vernon Township Police are releasing details about a crash that took place Tuesday night.  The crash happened around 9:51 p.m. at the intersection of Route 19 and Mullen Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 1994 Volvo driven by 29-year-old Lauren Amy Barone, of Meadville, failed to stop at a posted stop sign and crossed into the path of a 2008 Ford Edge traveling north on Route 19, driven by 34-year-old Conneaut Lake resident Sandra Hall.  Barone had two children, ages 6 and 11 in her vehicle.  The Volvo rolled over.  One of the children was ejected and Barone was trapped in the vehicle.  All three occupants were taken to UPMC Hamot -- one of them life-flighted.

In the Ford Edge, police say one person was taken by ambulance to Meadville Medical Center, but did not immediately say whether that person was the driver or the passenger, who was identified as Rachel Kuppinger, of Conneaut Lake.

Assisting Vernon Township Police were Vernon Central Fire Department, Meadville Ambulance, Life Flight, and the Pennsylvania State Police.
