State police are investigating a pair of armed robberies at two Crawford County bars that are believed to be related. The first incident occurred at about 2:30 Saturday morning. Police say a man walked into the Owl’s Nest Bar in Saegertown after it had closed for the night. Brandishing a shotgun, police say the man fired a round into the ceiling and forced an employee to give him some money from the cash register before fleeing the scene.
The second incident took place at Nate’s Bar and Grill in Cochranton at about 1:30 Sunday morning. Again, the man fired his gun into the ceiling and demanded money from the cash register, but this time, he was met with less success. Police say a customer “wrestled the gun away from him.” A small struggle ensued before the man fled the scene once again.
He is described as a black man 25 to 35 years old, about 6 feet tall with a medium build. In both robberies, police say he was wearing dark clothing and had his face covered. If you have any information, call the Pennsylvania State Police in Meadville.
