IRWIN TWP. – A Harrisville man is facing multiple charges for allegedly twice attacking his younger sister at her Irwin Township home. Police say 37-year-old Christopher Layman first on the afternoon of November 11th slammed his sister, 36-year-old Jennifer Wade, off the ground, resulting in her being treated for bruising and extreme back pain at Grove City Medical Center. Then on Wednesday morning, police say Layman again assaulted Wade, throwing a cup of scalding hot water on her back and neck, causing second degree burns.
Layman was arrested on two counts of simple assault, two counts of harassment, and one count of terroristic threats. He was arraigned in front of judge Patrick Lowrey and released on 25-thousand dollars unsecured bail so that he could attend a Federal Court hearing on other charges.
Upon her release from Grove City Medical Center, Wade was arrested on a bench warrant and remanded to the Venango County Jail.
