PA Supreme Court Blurs Lines On Search Warrants

Pennsylvania’s highest court is blurring the lines on search warrants.  The Supreme Court released a statement Tuesday, saying police do not necessarily need a warrant to search a vehicle, and can search based on reasonable probable cause.  The decision stems from a 2010 case involving a vehicle stop in Philadelphia that produced two pounds of marijuana.  Defense attorneys are calling the ruling an expansion of government power and a step towards eliminating personal privacy and freedom.
