MEADVILLE — Gale-force wind gusts are taking their toll.  911 dispatchers are reporting downed trees and power lines throughout much of our listening area, leaving hundreds in the dark.  First Energy Company is reporting this morning some 19-hundred customers without power in Erie County, close to 750 in Venango County, about 150 in Mercer County, and down to 68 in Crawford County as of late this morning.

Several hundred Northwestern REC customers in Crawford County were also without power.

“If the power does go off, residents are asked to meet with friends and family that do have power,” says  Crawford County Emergency Management Director Allen Clark.

We’re not out of the woods yet with this storm… the National Weather Service calls for a continued high wind warning till 4:00 this afternoon and a flood watch through this evening.
