TITUSVILLE – A generous contribution is helping the United Way of the Titusville Region reach its fundraising campaign goal.
“Northwest Savings Bank came in with a substantial corporate contribution for us. It’s very generous. They have always been long-time supporters of the United Way.”
Executive Director Terri Wig would not say exactly how much the bank gave, but she is proud to report the campaign now stands at roughly 30-thousand dollars, or around 20 percent of its goal of 145-thousand.
“We’ve had changes in some of our donor base and we’ve wanted to be extra conservative in our budget planning for this year.”
Wigg says the loss of some major corporate donors means she has had to roll back her goal a bit. Last year’s goal was 165-thousand. Wigg says the United Way needs contributions now more than ever.
“Our United Way does a lot of its own programming, plus we fund a lot of other outcome-based programs in the areas of education, income, and health.”
