MEADVILLE – A Meadville man was taken into custody for allegedly fighting with security officers at Allegheny College.  Security was called at about 5:45 Tuesday afternoon for a report of two men riding bicycles on the steps of the Tippi Center.

One of the men, later identified as 19-year-old Camryn Shiner, allegedly threw his bike at one of the security officers and attempted to hit him.  Security officers had to be assisted by a bystander to control Shiner.  The other man with Shiner did not interfere, police said.

Meadville City Police then arrived and took Shiner into custody.

During the struggle, a security officer was injured and treated at Meadville Medical Center.

Neither Shiner nor the second man are students at the college.

Shiner was taken to the Crawford County Jail and arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault – injury to police, Simple Assault, Resist Arrest or Other Law Enforcement, Disorderly Conduct and Harassment.
