CONNEAUT LAKE — A local auto dealer’s showroom has been transformed into a haven for all sizes and shapes of teddy bears.  Peggy Luce of Street Track and Trail estimates that the dealership has collected over 300 bears to donate to kids facing serious illnesses in area hospitals.

“We’ve had a teriffic response.  People have come from all over.  They have offered to help.  They have donated a bear and set up boxes,” says Luce.

“Donate a Bear Because You Care” started last month.  Saturday the 21st will be the last day to bring in a bear.  Luce says Street Track and Trail will begin dropping off the bears at several local hospitals on the 22nd.

“It is going to the Shriners Hospital, but we’re also going to bring them over to Hamot because the children from Shriners go over to Hamot for surgery.  We are also going to take care of our own at Meadville Medical Center, and we also should have enough left over for St. Vincent’s as well.”

If you’re interested in donating, stop by the Street Track and Trail showroom.  They are located on the Conneaut Lake Road in Conneaut Lake.
