OIL CITY – A Venango County elementary school with only 66 students is being considered for closing, and district officials have planned a hearing to see what the public has to say about it.  The closing of Oakland Township Elementary School in Dempseytown will be the topic of a public hearing scheduled for Thursday February 13th at 6pm at the Oil City High School Auditorium.

Superintendent Joe Carrico says if the school does end up closing down, students will be bussed to Oil City’s Smedley Street and Seventh Street elementary schools.

Oakland Township School is about seven miles from Oil City.
