SUMMIT TWP. –If a good scare is what they came for, the twenty-two riders of Conneaut Lake Park’s Blue Streak roller coaster who were rescued when the ride malfunctioned Saturday night certainly got their money’s worth. According to published reports, the coaster lost momentum and stopped at the top of a hill, leaving riders stranded until Conneaut Lake Park firemen came to their aid.
Park officials are still investigating what caused the ride to malfunction. There were no reported injuries, and the park stayed open the rest of the night. The failure happened during Conneaut Lake Park’s Ghost Lake haunted house festivities.
