FRANKLIN – A police chase in Franklin ends in an arrest.  It started on Tuesday afternoon when city cops spotted a dark colored SUV traveling the wrong way in the 1300-block of Elk Street, which is one-way.  A chase began when the driver refused to stop.  Police say the driver drove the vehicle from 14th street to Myrtle, then to 12th near Liberty Street, where the vehicle stopped, and the driver and a passenger jumped out and fled on foot.  Police caught up with the driver and arrested him.  He was identified as 21-year-old Sean Reed, a transient from the Franklin area.  The passenger got away and was never identified.

Police determined the vehicle had been stolen from a Venango Street residence in Rocky Grove.

Reed is facing charges of Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting Arrest, Theft from a Motor Vehicle, and numerous other charges.  Bail was set at 60-thousand dollars.  Reed’s preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 1st.

Police say there have been quite a few unlawful vehicle entries reported recently and are reminding residents to lock up when they park their cars.
