TIONESTA – A Franklin man who got into an accident that may have set off the fire that burned down the Forest Press in Tionesta Monday will now be facing charges for that crash. Twenty-six-year-old Kevin Wilson was traveling on Elm Street near its intersection with Route 62, when he sheared a utility pole and flipped his car. Wilson fled the scene of the accident but was later located. Wilson was not wearing a seatbelt and refused to get medical treatment.
He is being charged with a Roadways Laned for Traffic violation.
The state police fire marshal is still investigating whether Wilson’s accident had anything to do with the fire that burned down the office of Forest County’s only newspaper.
