BUTLER COUNTY, PA -- Donald Trump has scored a legal victory against a former beauty pageant contestant. Just ahead of Wednesday's Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, an arbitration judge has awarded the Trump-owned Miss Universe Organization five-million dollars in damages against ex-Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin, of Cranberry Township, Butler County.
She made headlines earlier this year when she accused the Miss USA pageant of being rigged, "lacking in morals," "inconsistent" and "in many ways trashy." Monnin resigned from her position as Miss Pennsylvania shortly after the June pageant. Trump fired back, calling Monnin's accusations "defamatory" in a lawsuit.
Judge Theodore H. Katz agreed. According to the "New York Post," Judge Katz said Monnin's statements were "false" and "showed a reckless disregard" in his ruling late last week.
