TITUSVILLE – Freezing on one side and roasting on the other, firefighters from multiple departments braved the full fury of the elements this morning to extinguish a house fire in Titusville.  Unfortunately the home at 633 South Franklin Street ended up being a total loss.

Assistant Fire Chief for the city Ken Leach says a State Police Fire Marshall is on his way out later today to pinpoint a cause.  He says steam and darkness has made it difficult to tell how the fire started.

No injuries were reported and no one was home at the time.  It took firefighters a little less than four hours to extinguish the fire initially after it was called in at about 8:20 last night.  Then crews were called back out just before 5am today when the home reignited.

Titusville Fire Department was assisted by Pleasantville, Cherrytree and Hydetown Volunteer Fire Departments as well as Townville Ambulance.
