Donations taken for injured horse

A Centerville area horse called Northstar was stiff with pain this morning after suffering burns to his back and face – the result being intentionally set on fire over the weekend.

"He is right now on an antibiotic for infection, pain medicine, and just applying salves, trying to keep it moist."

Northstar’s owner, Jessie Woodworth says friends have helped her organize a collection for Northstar’s veterinary bills.

"As long as we keep the infection out, he should be good.  That's the most important thing right now, just crossing our fingers and praying.  All of the prayers help; that's for sure."

PNC Bank is now handling donations after Woodworth says the veterinary clinic treating Northstar was overwhelmed with phone calls yesterday.  Donations can be made at any PNC branch by asking to contribute to the “Donations for Northstar fund.”  You can also find more information at the facebook page, “Donations For Northstar.”

No arrests have been made.  Corry based state police are continuing to search for clues after someone doused Northstar in a flammable liquid and set him on fire.
