MEADVILLE – Crawford County has spent almost two million dollars on the Talon building.  According to official figures released to Forever Broadcasting Wednesday in response to a freedom-of-information request late last week, the total amount of money spent on the former Talon plant on Upper Arch Street is one million, eight hundred twelve thousand, five hundred seventy three dollars and twenty-nine cents.

Costs include demolition of Talon Building C, asbestos removal, plumbing and electrical work, and other professional services since the plant was purchased in 2010.

We’re learning of these figures just after news broke that the commissioners have decided to abandon their original plan of using the Talon plant as part of a 25-million dollar courthouse expansion and renovation project.
