WEST FALLOWFIELD TWP. – In Crawford County, last night’s severe weather is being blamed for the death of an area motorcyclist. Adamsville resident Roger Brian Miller died shortly after 9:00 last night while driving on Adamsville Road near Haun Road in West Fallowfield Township. A tree, knocked down by the extreme winds, took Miller by surprise, resulting in a head-on crash that claimed his life.
Severe thunderstorms damaged trees and knocked down power lines all across northwest PA last night. A tornado was caught on camera, apparently touching down near the intersection of Route 99 and Crane Road, just outside Edinboro, where several buildings were badly damaged.
Another reported twister smashed through Union City, causing major damage to buildings, shattering glass in downtown storefronts, and knocking out power to the entire borough.
The storm also caused extensive flooding from Albion to Corry.
Electricity was restored to the vast majority of residents, but Penelec is still reporting pockets of outages in Erie, Edinboro, Albion, Corry, and Jamestown, PA this morning.
