MEADVILLE – This year’s Crawford County Fair Queen had the honor of being crowned by her sister.
"I think it's going to be extra special because she was the one who got to crown me," said 2012 Saegertown High School graduate Brianne Lenhart.
She is the 19 year old daughter of Brian and Irene Lenhart, and the sister of 2012 Fair Queen Lindsey Lenhart. In addition to her main prize – a 750 dollar scholarship – Lenhart also won a 100 dollar Best Advertising award, a 100 dollar Best Essay award, and tied for a 50-dollar Public Speaking scholarship.
The contestants participated in private interview with judges, on stage skits, questions, and an evening wear competition.
In a state of affairs unprecedented in Crawford County Fair Queen history, there was a four way tie at the end.
"The tie? Wow. You don't think that's going to happen every day. No one plans and prepares for that, so it's definitely a big eye opener for just hoe close these things can be," Lenhart said.
Lenhart’s victory was decided after a last minute tie breaker on stage question.
Lenhart is attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she is studying Hospitality Management.
