Two Meadville businesses were found burglarized this morning. Windows at the Meadville Market House and nearby Sandy’s Sign Works were smashed. Market Master Alice Sjolander says two cash registers were taken from the Market House:
"I got a phone call at 6:30 this morning. When they opened the restaurant this morning, they found that their cash register had been stolen. They called the police, and when the police investigated it, they found that someone had broken a window on the south side of the market house and broken into the restaurant, and also stole a cash register from the bakery."
It’s not known if anything was taken from Sandy’s. Meadville police did not immediately say whether they suspect this morning’s incidents could be related to last weekend’s burglary of a Downtown Mall liquor store.
The Meadville Market House will be closed for business today. Sandy's will remain open.
