IRWIN TWP. — An Allegheny County Councilman is offering a public apology following an alleged DUI crash in Venango County.  Police records show Robert Macey, of West Mifflin, PA, crashed a Chevy Malibu into a ditch while driving on Scrubgrass Road near Old Route 8 in Irwin Township back on Saturday, December 22nd.  The crash happened at around 7:50 in the morning, as Macey was heading to a friend’s cabin.

The Allegheny County District 9 councilman told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review he had consumed alcohol the night before, but not that morning.  Police say he failed a field sobriety test.

Macey told the newspaper he is “ashamed,” that he “messed up,” and that now, he wants to “do what’s right.”
