Authorities in Mercer County are seeking information from the public about the recent discovery of a 12-year-old boy’s body in a local river. Sharon Police Chief Michael Menster says young Mark Goodrich, Jr., of Sharon, was reported missing by his father Thursday night. After learning that he had possibly been swimming in the Shenango River, authorities began searching the area.
On Saturday morning,his body was found downstream from where he had allegedly been swimming. The body was found in a portion of the river downstream from an abandoned railroad bridge in Brookfield Township, Ohio.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances of Goodrich’s death. Anyone with information is asked to call the Mercer County 911 Center at 724-662-6110.
