SCHOOL STABBING

 

Students return to class today at Franklin Regional High School IN MURRYSVILLE. Last night, a public rally was held at Murrysville Community Park for students and staff members. 16 YEar-old Alex Hribal remains held without bail on attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges.

SEVERAL STUDENTS REMAINS HOSPITALIZED.

 

COURT DATE FOR PENN STATE STABBING SUSPECT

 

PRELIMINARY HEARINGS ARE SCHEDULED TODAY FOR 3 PENN STATE STUDENTS CHARGED IN A STABBING EARLY SATURDAY AT AN APARTMENT COMPLEX ON THE 200 BLOCK OF EAST FOSTER AVENUE IN STATE COLLEGE. POLICE SAY ONE OF THE VICTIMS WAS STABBED IN THE BACK AND FLOWN TO UPMC ALTOONA. THE OTHER HAD MINOR INJURIES. 21 YEAR OLD PENN STATE ALTOONA STUDENT Brandon Frick Is CHARGED WITH aggravated assault AND IS IN THE CENTRE COUNTY PRISON ON 10-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND.

22 YEAR OLD ROBERT DONALDSON AND 21 YEAR OLD WILLIAM STRANBURG…BOTH STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY PARK…ARE CHARGED WITH MAKING terroristic threats and possession of an instrument of crime. THEY ARE FREE ON BAIL.

 

BOMB THREAT AT PHILIPSBURG OSCEOLA

 

STUDENTS AT Philipsburg-Osceola High School were EVACUATED TO THE AUDITORIUM YESTERDAY afternoon…THEN SENT HOME…WHEN a BOMB threat was found WRITTEN ON A BATHROOM WALL. State police bomb-SNIFFING dogs were brought in, BUT THEY FOUND NO EXPLOSIVES.

 

BARN DESTROYED

 

6 fire cOMPANIES responded to a barn fire TUESDAY afternoon at 183 Trail Ridge Lane in Antis Township, BLAIR COUNTY.

Officials believe an electric heater next to a propane tank SPARKED the BLAZE. The barn is a total loss. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

 

KILLER WANTS OUT OF JAIL

 

47 YEAR OLD WILLIAM SALTSMAN HAS BEEN IN PRISON SINCE 1987…AND THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS HE’S ASKING FOR AN EARLY RELEASE, CLAIMING HE HAS SATISFIED HIS SENTENCE. SALTSMAN WAS SENTENCED TO LIFE PLUS 12 TO 25 YEARS AFTER HE PLEADED GUILTY TO FIRST DEGREE MURDER AND ROBBERY FOR HOLDING UP REIGHARD’S GAS STATION IN ALTOONA…THEN KILLING THE 21 YEAR OLD NIGHT CLERK AT TUCKAHOE PARK. A HEARING DATE HAS NOT YET BEEN SCHEDULED.

 

Bank robber JAILED

JOHNSTOWN Police SAY A 42 YEAR OLD MAN IS IN CUSTODY, CHARGED WITH robbing the Ameriserv BANK along Fairfield Avenue IN THE WEST END TUESDAY MORNING. he handed A TELLER a note AND MADE OFF WITH AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF MONEY. POLICE RELEASED SURVEILLANCE PHOTOS AND RECEIVED TIPS THAT HELPED THEM TRACK DOWN THE SUSPECT. THAT BANK IS SCHEDULED TO PERMANENTLY CLOSE TOMoRROW.

Drugs in Prison

 

FORMER BLAIR COUNTY PRISON GUARD JOHN MUTSKO OF LILLY IS NOW BEHIND BARS HIMSELF ON 100-THOUSAND DOLLARS BAIL. THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS MUTSKO IS ACCUSED OF BRINGING PRESCRIPTION PILLS AND TOBACCO TO THE HOLLIDAYSBURG LOCK-UP AND GIVING THEM TO PRISONERS IN EXCHANGE FOR PAINKILLERS. THE SCHEME CAME TO LIGHT WHEN AN INMATE OVERDOSED ON MUSCLE RELAXERS AND COLLAPSED IN THE SHOWER. HE LATER TOLD AUTHORITIES MUTSKO HAD PROVIDED THE PILLS. A PRELIMINARY HEARING IS SCHEDULED TUESDAY.

 

FIRE COMPANY TREASURER ARRESTED

 

The treasurer of PHILIPSBURG’S RELIANCE volunteer fire CoMPANY HAS BEEN chargeD WITH stealing more than 15-THOUSAND DOLLARS. State police SAY Ryan Jones forged checkS STARTING BACK IN January SHORTLY AFTER HE BECAME THE TREASURER. THE FIRE COMPANY IS HOPING FOR DONATIONS TO MAKE UP THE LOST MONEY.

Blair COUNTY WILL RECEIVE OVER 29-THOUSAND DOLLARS TO HELP PREVENT THE SPREAD OF WEST NILE VIRUS. the Department of Environmental Protection announced GRANTS TOTALLING nearly 2-POINT-1 million DOLLARS YESTERDAY FOR 26 counties. Last year, THE VIRUS WAS DISCOVERED IN OVER 12-HUNDRED mosquito samples. 28 birds, 2 horses and 11 humans tested positive in Pennsylvania.
Cambria COUNTY WILL GET MORE THAN 65-THOUSAND DOLLARS…AND Centre COUNTY IS IN LINE FOR OVER 42-THOUSAND.
