SCHOOL STABBING

INVESTIGATORS ARE LOOKING INTO THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE TEENAGER ACCUSED OF A STABBING RAMPAGE LAST WEEK AT FRANKLIN REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN MURRYSVILLE HAD SPECIFIC TARGETS. A SEARCH WARRANT AFFIDAVIT REFERENCES THREATENING PHONE CALLS ALLEGEDLY FROM 16-YEAR-OLD ALEX HRIBAL TO AT LEAST 2 OTHER STUDENTS. AUTHORITIES TOOK COMPUTERS, IPODS, GAMING CONSOLES, AND AN IPAD FROM HRIBAL'S HOUSE AFTER HE STABBED 22 PEOPLE. HRIBAL’S ATTORNEY SAYS HE IS NOT AWARE OF THE TEEN CALLING ANYONE THE NIGHT BEFORE THE ATTACK.

MURDER VICTIM IDENTIFIED J

OHNSTOWN POLICE HAVE RELEASED MORE DETAILS ABOUT SUNDAY MORNING’S MURDER AT 710 GROVE AVENUE IN THE MOXHAM SECTION OF TOWN. WHEN POLICE ARRIVED, THEY FOUND 21- YEAR OLD ZACHARY ANDREWS DEAD OF MULTIPLE GUNSHOTS. A SECOND PERSON WAS TAKEN TO MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER. HIS NAME HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED, BUT HIS INJURIES ARE NOT BELIEVED TO BE LIFE THREATENING. CAMBRIA COUNTY CHIEF DEPUTY CORONER JEFFREY LEES SAYS ANDREWS’ DEATH WAS DETERMINED TO BE A HOMICIDE. SO FAR POLICE SAY THEY HAVE NO MOTIVE AND NO SUSPECTS, BUT THEY DON’T BELIEVE THIS WAS A RANDOM INCIDENT.

SEPARATE TRIALS IN ALTOONA MURDER CASE?

20 YEAR OLD HUGO BAEZ OF NEW YORK IS CHARGED WITH MURDER IN THE HALLOWEEN NIGHT SHOOTING DEATH OF WILLIE SOLOMON AT CHOICES NIGHTCLUB IN ALTOONA…AND 24 YEAR OLD BRANDON MIDDER OF ALTOONA IS FACING AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AND VARIOUS OTHER CHARGES. NOW THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS THAT THEIR ATTORNEYS REQUESTED SEPARATE TRIALS DURING A STATUS CONFERENCE YESTERDAY. JUDGE ELIZABETH DOYLE WILL HOLD A HEARING MAY 5TH TO HEAR ARGUMENTS.

POLICE TRACK DOWN SUSPECT IN JOHNSTOWN MURDER

AFTER RECEIVING A TIP MONDAY, JOHNSTOWN POLICE ARRESTED 32 YEAR OLD KEITH REED AT THE COOPERSDALE HOME. HE WAS WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SHOOTING DEATH OF TONY PHILLIPS OUTSIDE THE EDDERS DEN BAR IN LATE MARCH. POLICE SAY JOSHUA CAMBRIC IS ACCUSED OF SHOOTING PHILIPS THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD OF HIS VEHICLE. JEREMY WOODARD ALLEGEDLY DROVE THE GETAWAY CAR…AND POLICE SAY REED WENT TO THE BAR WITH PHILLIPS AND WAS INSIDE THE ESTABLISHMENT WHEN THE SHOOTING HAPPENED. ALL 3 MEN ARE CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL HOMICIDE AND ARE IN THE CAMBRIA COUNTY PRISON.

STUDENTS JAILED FOLLOWING ST. COLLEGE STABBING

PENN STATE ALTOONA STUDENT BRANDON FRICK IS IN THE CENTRE COUNTY JAIL, CHARGED WITH STABBING 2 MEN AT A STATE COLLEGE APARTMENT SUNDAY…AND SCHOOL SPOKESWOMAN SHARI ROUTCH TELLS THE ALTOONA MIRROR THE CAMPUS IS WAITING TO RECEIVE A POLICE REPORT BEFORE ADMINISTERING DISCIPLINE. 2 UNIVERSITY PARK STUDENTS…WILLIAM STRANBURG AND ROBERT DONALDSON…ARE ALSO JAILED ON LESSER CHARGES. PRELIMINARY HEARINGS ARE ALL 3 ARE SCHEDULED TOMORROW. BOTH VICTIMS HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL.

APARTMENT DESTROYED

FIRE DESTROYED AN APARTMENT ON KIFER ROAD IN MILESBURG, CENTRE COUNTY, MONDAY AFTERNOON. JIM URBAN WAS LEFT HOMELESS AND HE IS AN E-M-T WHO RESPONDED TO THE BLAZE…ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WAS HIS HOME. FIREFIGHTERS WERE ABLE TO STOP THE FLAMES FROM SPREADING TO SEVERAL OTHER APARTMENTS.

GUILTY OF ANIMAL CRUELTY

A CENTRE COUNTY MAN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO 90 DAYS IN JAIL AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY OF ANIMAL CRUELTY. BACK IN JANUARY, POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE HOME OF RONALD HAINES OF ORVISTON AND FOUND HIS YELLOW LAB DEAD AND FROZEN TO THE GROUND. THE DOG HOUSE HAD MANY HOLES. THERE WAS NO FOOD, AND THE WATER WAS ALSO FROZEN. HAINES MUST ALSO PAY A ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR FINE.

LOCAL TEACHER RUNNING IN BOSTON MARATHON

MOSHANNON VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SURPRISED 3RD GRADE TEACHER BETHANY THOMPSON WITH A BIG SEND-OFF YESTERDAY AND SHE’S HEADED TO BOSTON ON FRIDAY TO RUN IN MONDAY’S MARATHON.
