2 INJURED A FIERY CRASH SENT 2 PEOPLE TO THE HOSPITAL AROUND 1:30 SUNDAY MORNING IN SOMERSET COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY MASON ANSELL LOST CONTROL OF HIS SPEEDING PICKUP ALONG ON STATE ROUTE 281 IN MILFORD TOWNSHIP AND HIS VEHICLE RAN INTO A CORN FIELD. ANSELL AND HIS PASSENGER, JENNIFER JURY, WERE EJECTED AND THE CAR BURST INTO FLAMES.

CAR FLIPS OVER

19 YEAR OLD JUSTIN CLINEMYER OF LORETTO ESCAPED WITH JUST MINOR INJURIES IN A CRASH LATE LAST NIGHT. STATE POLICE SAY CLINEMYER LOST CONTROL OF HIS CAR ALONG ROUTE 22 IN ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP NEAR GALLITZIN. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER AND CLINEMYER WAS NOT WEARING A SEATBELT. HE WAS TAKEN TO UPMC ALTOONA.

FIRES IN ALTOONA

FIRE DESTROYED A 2-STORY GARAGE AROUND 5 SUNDAY MORNING AT 10-05 18TH AVENUE IN ALTOONA. THE HOMEOWNER IS CURRENTLY STAYING WITH FRIENDS. FIREFIGHTERS ARE STILL INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE.

A PARTIAL EVACUATION YESTERDAY AT THE GRAYSTONE COURT SENIOR APARTMENTS ON EAST PLEASANT VALLEY BOULEVARD IN ALTOONA. OFFICIALS SAY A SMALL FIRE BROKE OUT, BUT CREWS PUT IT OUT QUICKLY. NO REPORTS OF ANY INJURIES.

ALTOONA DRUGS ARRESTS

ALTOONA POLICE FOUND 160 PACKETS OF HEROIN AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF MARIJUANA WHEN THEY STOPPED A CAR EARLY SATURDAY MORNING ON THE 100 BLOCK OF 3RD AVENUE. 20-YEAR OLD STEVEN HALL JUNIOR OF ALTOONA IS CHARGED WITH POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER HEROIN, POSSESSION OF A SMALL AMOUNT OF MARIJUANA, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, D-U-I, AND RELATED TRAFFIC OFFENSES. THE HEROIN HAD A STREET VALUE OF ABOUT 4-THOUSAND DOLLARS.

ALTOONA POLICE ARRESTED 2 MEN FOLLOWING A TRAFFIC STOP EARLY SATURDAY MORNING ON THE 900 BLOCK OF 7TH AVENUE. DESHAWN BADIE OF PITTSBURGH TRIED TO TOSS A BAGGIE OF MARIJUANA FROM THE VEHICLE…AND COPS FOUND A STOLEN HANDGUN AND A JOINT INSIDE THE CAR. BADIE WAS ALSO UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL. HIS PASSENGER, ROBERT STANLEY OF VIRGINIA, IS ALSO FACING DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES.

ANOTHER CAMPUS ASSAULT

PENN STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING ANOTHER RAPE ON CAMPUS. A STUDENT REPORTED BEING ASSAULTED IN A ROOM AT POLLOCK RESIDENCE HALLS SOMETIME BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 4TH AND 5TH. THE SUSPECT IS KNOWN TO THE VICTIM, BUT AN ARREST HAS NOT YET BEEN MADE. THIS IS THE 11TH SEXUAL ASSAULT REPORTED TO CAMPUS POLICE SINCE AUGUST.
