A deadLY a-T-V CRASH IN CLEARFIELD COUNTY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. STATE POLICE SAY 31 year-old Jeffery Gallaher OF IRVONA lost control of his 4-WHEELER along Henrys Road just off of State Route 729 in Jordan Township. The ATV RAN off the road and rolled over, EJECTING Gallaher and HIS female passenger, 35 YEAR OLD ERIN KING OF SOMERSET. Gallaher was PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.

26 YEAR OLD MATTHEW CALFE AND HIS PASSENGER, 26 YEAR OLD REBECCA DIEHL…BOTH OF WARRIORS MARK…WERE FLOWN TO UPMC ALTOONA SATURDAY AFTERNOON FOLLOWING A CRASH IN CLEARFIELD COUNTY. State police saY someone ran CALFE’S S-U-V off I-80 IN PINE TOWNSHIP. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES. TROOPERS ARE STILL INVESTIGATING.

STATE COLLEGE POLICE SAY MANUEL BARRANTES OF Florida IS FACING DRUNK DRIVING AND OTHER charges FOLLOWING A CHASE AND CRASH JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT SATURDAY. AN OFFICER SPOTTED BARRANTES TURNING the wrong way onto Beaver Avenue and tried to STOP HIM, BUT HE SPED AWAY BEFORE EVENTUALLY SLAMMING INTO CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GRILL. THE RESTAURANT WAS NOT DAMAGED, BUT BARRANTES IS IN THE CENTRE COUNTY PRISON WITH A PRELIMINARY HEARING SET FOR AUGUST 21ST.

Cockroaches AT ALTOONA HOME

ALTOONA Police say they found hundreds of cockroaches IN A FILTHY HOME at 411 22nd Street LAST WEEK AND NOW JENNINA PRATT IS CHARGED WITH ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF HER 5 children. SHE IS IN THE BLAIR COUNTY JAIL WITH A PRELIMINARY HEARING SCHEDULED WEDNESDAY. some of the KIDS had bite marks on their legs AND POLICE ALSO FOUND A MALNOURISHED DOG OUTSIDE THE HOME.

GRAFFITTI ON SCHOOL

STATE COLLEGE POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR THE VANDALS WHO HIT RADIO PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BETWEEN 2 SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND 8AM SUNDAY. the suspects SPRAYED GRAFFITTI INCLUDING various pictures and writings along the brick wall and windows. Custodians ARE cleaning UP the mess. Anyone with information should call Police at 234-71-50.

HIGH SCHOOL RENOVATION PROJECT

The State College Area school board MEETS TONIGHT TO HEAR FROM THE ARCHITECTS BEHIND THE high school project. MEMBERS MUST CHOOSE BETWEEN THE 2 REMAINING CONCEPTS. Concept D would MOVE all MAIN academic classes inTO the South Building and Concept B would keep core classes in both buildings with a walkway connecting theM. A FINAL DECISION IS EXPECTED AT THE SEPTEMBER 9TH MEETING…THEN THE QUESTION WILL BECOME A VOTER REFERENDUM ON THE NOVEMBER BALLOT.

GAS PRICES FALLING
An oversupply of gas is driving prices down across the country. According to the latest Lundberg Survey, in the past 2 weeks, prices fell more than 7-cents a gallon settling at an average of $3.59. Drivers in Charleston, South Carolina are getting the best deal at $3.27 while those in San Diego and Chicago are paying more than $3.90. ALTOONA-AREA DRIVERS ARE FILLING UP FOR $3.59.
