SCHOOL STABBING

THE 16-YEAR-OLD STUDENT ACCUSED OF STABBING 22 PEOPLE AT FRANKLIN REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL REMAINS BEHIND BARS ON SUICIDE WATCH AT A JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY. ALEX HRIBAL’S LAWYER TOLD NBC'S "TODAY" SHOW LAST WEEK THAT HIS CLIENT "CAN'T BELIEVE HE DID THIS." POLICE HAVE NOT SAID WHAT MAY HAVE BEEN THE MOTIVE, BUT THE PITTSBURGH POST TRIBUNE SAYS A SCREENSHOT SHOWING SOMEONE CALLING THE SOPHOMORE “RAT FACE” WAS TURNED OVER TO POLICE THE DAY AFTER THE STABBING. MEANWHILE, DOCTORS SAY A 17-YEAR-OLD STUDENT WHO WAS AMONG THE MOST CRITICALLY INJURED CONTINUES TO IMPROVE AFTER UNDERGOING ANOTHER SURGERY. THE BOY IS STILL LISTED IN CRITICAL CONDITION AT UPMC. TEACHERS WILL RETURN TO WORK TODAY AND THE SCHOOL WILL RESUME CLASSES WEDNESDAY.

PENN STATE STABBING

A STABBING EARLY SATURDAY AT AN APARTMENT COMPLEX ON THE 200 BLOCK OF EAST FOSTER AVENUE IN STATE COLLEGE. POLICE SAY 2 MEN VISITING PENN STATE FOR THE WEEKEND WANTED TO SEE A FRIEND ON THE 3RD FLOOR, BUT THEY WERE CONFRONTED BY 3 MEN WHO PULLED OUT KNIVES. ONE VICTIM WAS STABBED IN THE BACK AND FLOWN TO UPMC ALTOONA. THE OTHER HAD MINOR INJURIES. 21 YEAR OLD PENN STATE ALTOONA STUDENT BRANDON FRICK IS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AND IS IN THE CENTRE COUNTY PRISON ON 10-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND. 22 YEAR OLD ROBERT DONALDSON AND 21 YEAR OLD WILLIAM STRANBURG…BOTH STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY PARK…ARE CHARGED WITH MAKING TERRORISTIC THREATS AND POSSESSION OF AN INSTRUMENT OF CRIME. THEY ARE FREE ON BAIL. PRELIMINARY HEARINGS ARE SET FOR WEDNESDAY.

ANOTHER MURDER IN JOHNSTOWN

A DEADLY SHOOTING IN THE MOXHAM SECTION OF SUNDAY MORNING. POLICE SAY IT HAPPENED AT 710 GROVE AVENUE AND THEY FOUND A MAN IN HIS EARLY 20’S DEAD INSIDE. HE HAD SUFFERED MULTIPLE GUNSHOTS A SECOND PERSON WAS SENT TO THE HOSPITAL. NO WORD ON HIS CONDITION. POLICE ARE TREATING THIS AS A HOMICIDE.

WOMAN DIES AT TRAILER PARK

A 25 YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS FOUND DEAD SUNDAY AT FILLO’S TRAILER PARK NEAR BEDFORD. STATE POLICE AND THE CORONER'S OFFICE ARE INVESTIGATING AND THEY SPENT HOURS ON THE SCENE. AN AUTOPSY IS SCHEDULED TODAY. NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE.

ATTEMPTED HOLD-UP

33 YEAR OLD RICKY SHEELER JUNIOR OF MOUNT UNION IS IN THE HUNTINGDON COUNTY PRISON FACING ATTEMPTED ROBBERY AND TERRORISTIC THREATS CHARGES. STATE POLICE SAY WENT TO THE HOME OF AN ACQUAINTANCE SUNDAY AFTERNOON, PULLED A GUN AND ASKED 2 WOMEN IF THEY WOULD HELP HIM COMMIT A ROBBERY…THEN HE THREATENED THE WOMEN WHO FLED THE SCENE. SHEELER GOT A RIDE FROM 2 MEN WHO THEN ASKED HIM TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THAT’S WHEN HE POINTED HIS PELLET GUN, WHICH LOOKED LIKE A REVOLVER, AT THE HEAD OF THE DRIVER AND DEMANDED EVERYTHING HE HAD. THE VICTIM STRUGGLED WITH SHEELER AND THE OTHER PASSENGER DISARMED HIM. SHEELER WAS LATER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. A PRELIMINARY HERAING IS SCHEDULED APRIL 22ND.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT UNDER INVESTIGATION

STATE POLICE IN BLAIR COUNTY ARE INVESTIGATING AN INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN THE HOLLIDAYSBURG AREA. A WIFE AND HER FRIENDS ARRIVED AT A LOCATION ALONG BERWIND ROAD WHERE THEY WERE CONFRONTED BY HER HUSBAND AND HIS RELATIVES. SEVERAL PEOPLE CLAIM THEY WERE ASSAULTED… THEN THE WIFE AND HER FRIENDS DROVE AWAY. THEIR CAR HIT SOMEONE FROM THE HUSBAND’S FAMILY…AND THE HUSBAND THEN CHASED THE OTHER CAR. POLICE EVENTUALLY PULLED BOTH VEHICLES OVER. NO WORD ON THE VICTIM’S INJURIES.

BARN DESTROYED

NO INJURIES REPORTED EARLY SATURDAY MORNING WHEN FIRE DESTROYED A 2-STORY BARN ON THE 18-THOUSAND BLOCK OF YOCUM LANE IN THE SHADE GAP AREA OF HUNTINGDON COUNTY. THE FIRE CHIEF SAYS THE STRUCTURE HELD 3 WAGONS AND AN OLD FARM TRUCK, BUT NO EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT.

DRUGS SEIZED

STATE POLICE COMMISSIONER FRANK NOONAN SAYS OVER 16 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF DRUGS WAS SEIZED IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THIS YEAR. THAT INCLUDES MORE THAN 37 POUNDS OF HEROIN AND 23 POUNDS OF METHAMPHETAMINE WITH A STREET VALUE OF 9-POINT-5 MILLION. MORE THAN 700-THOUSAND PRESCRIPTION PILLS AND OVER 13-HUNDRED POUNDS OF MARIJUANA VALUED AT MORE THAN 4 MILLION DOLLARS WAS ALSO SEIZED. IN 2013, POLICE SEIZED A TOTAL OF MORE THAN 55 MILLION DOLLARS IN PROHIBITED DRUGS.
