state police in huntingdon county are investigating a kidnapping. a woman claims she was jogging along henderson overlook road between 11:30 and noon yesterday when an unknown white male forced her into his white work van. he drove her to a wooded area where she was able to run away and scream for help. a passing motorist heard her and found the victim.

altoona police have released more information about the shooting death of 37 year old stephen hackney early last saturday morning. the altoona mirror reports that court documents say someone called 911 and reported hearing several gunshots and seeing 3 men running from 124 walnut avenue. police found hackney dead inside and they recovered a cell phone outside, which they hope might lead to the gunman. there was also a large sum of money scattered inside the house. hackney previously served jail time for a 2006 drive-by shooting in altoona.
